Fire sprinkler system testing next week

LLCC Facilities Services will be coordinating testing of fire sprinkler systems on main campus beginning Monday, Jan. 8, and at Outreach Centers beginning Tuesday, Jan. 9. While we strive to keep disruptions to a minimum, it is necessary to activate and sound the fire alarms during sprinkler testing. Your patience is appreciated while we perform these necessary tests.

Facilities Services welcomes Calvin Walter

Calvin WalterLLCC Facilities Services would like to welcome its newest team member, Calvin Walter.

Calvin previously served as a course materials coordinator for the college and, starting today, will be the facilities reservations technician. He will be managing events as well as scheduling non-academic use of main campus facilities.

He can be contacted at 217-786-3424 or Calvin.Walter@llcc.edu with any scheduling or event needs.

Key procedures

LLCC Facilities Services would like to remind staff of current key procedures. A request for keys for a new or existing employee can be made by entering a Facilities Services Work Order Request (KACE form) and choosing “Key Request” from the drop-down menu under Category.

If issued keys are lost, please enter a Lost Key, Police Department (KACE form).

LLCC PD will then advise Facilities Services on the best way to proceed which may include re-issuing the same keys or re-pinning locks and issuing new keys to all affected staff.

Once keys have been cut and assigned, you should receive an email notice from KACE indicating that the Work Order Request has been closed. Keys can then be signed for and picked up at Mason Hall, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Please feel free to call the Facilities Services office at 217-786-2304 with any questions or concerns.

Access points to Menard Hall limited through Aug.14

As a reminder, contractors have corridors closed for additional demolition outside the student services construction barrier. This requires the corridor between A. Lincoln Commons and Menard Hall, the corridor in front of Menard classrooms 1173-1179 and the corridor in front of Menard offices 1180-1185 to be shut down for approximately two weeks. Access to Menard Hall is from the east (along the drive) during this time. We anticipate this to re-open on Monday, Aug.14. Please use caution and follow all signs, caution tape, cones, barricades and barriers in this area. Signs are posted to help everyone navigate during this time. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Tim Ervin at 217-786-9605 or tim.ervin@llcc.edu.
