Solar panel installation at LLCC-Jacksonville begins Aug. 5

Starting on Monday, Aug. 5, contractors will begin installing solar panels on the roof at LLCC-Jacksonville. We anticipate this work will take approximately 30-45 calendar days to complete. Contractors will be sure to maintain access to the building at all times. Please use caution and be aware of all construction traffic and materials being lifted up on to the roof during this time period. Montgomery Hall and Cass Gym lots closed starting today

As a part of the ongoing site paving project on the Springfield campus, contractors will need to close the entire lot in front of Montgomery Hall and the entire lot behind Cass Gym to replace paving starting on Wednesday, July 24. It is anticipated that that both lots will be closed for several days. Please make plans and allow time to park in other areas during this time. Please use caution and follow all construction traffic signs, cones/barrels and directions at all times. Repair of drives and parking lots begins today

Starting on today, June 3, paving contractors will be working on repairing drives and parking lots on the main campus in Springfield and updating parking lots at our Taylorville location. Work on the main campus will include resurfacing of the main vehicular circulation drive, Cass Gym parking lot, Montgomery parking lot and other miscellaneous curbing, gutter and drainage repair work. In Taylorville, the existing parking lot will get a seal and stripe and additional paving of the gravel lot and work at the entrance drive will be taking place. We anticipate this work will continue through the summer and will be complete in mid-August. Please plan accordingly as Cass and Montgomery parking lots and sections of the main drive may be inaccessible for short periods of time. Contractors will be sure to maintain at least one drive lane open at all times on the main campus and will maintain access to the Taylorville parking lot at all times. Access to Quiznos, bookstore and Student Life will be maintained at all times. Be aware that using an alternate stairway or door to access these areas might be necessary throughout construction. In Sangamon Hall, minor flooring work will be occurring in the northeast corner of the second floor near the study lounge. In Cass Gym, the entry lobby, classroom and all three stairways will be affected by construction and will be unavailable at various times during the construction. Repair work in west stairwell of Workforce Careers Center

LLCC Facilities Services will be coordinating the repair of piping in the ceiling of the west stairwell of the Workforce Careers Center on Friday, Feb. 22 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. It will be necessary to close the stairwell to all student, faculty and staff use during this time. Your patience and cooperation is appreciated as we perform this vital repair.
