Nancy Sweet, dean, Workforce Institute (formerly Applied and Emerging Technologies), was interviewed by WICS/FOX Illinois yesterday about the short-term, affordable training opportunities at the Workforce Institute and the Workforce 101 sessions that will be held Saturday, June 26 for those looking to start or change careers to try their hands at various trades and meet employers.

Candace Silas, director, Open Door-Workforce Equity Initiative, was interviewed on Sports Radio 1450 May 24 on the program, which is currently recruiting students.

Illinois Stories to feature Kreher Agriculture Center

Producers of the PBS program “Illinois Stories” were on campus yesterday preparing an upcoming episode on the new Kreher Agriculture Center. Host Mark McDonald interviewed Dr. Charlotte Warren, president; Bill Harmon, professor of agronomy; and several agriculture students. Other ag students demonstrated various simulators and assisted Craig Beckmier, professor of agriculture, with sheep in the animal science pavilion. Also assisting with the video shoot were Holly Bauman, agriculture program specialist, and Rich Teeter, professor of agriculture. The episode will air sometime in June, and we will announce the date in LincIn when it is set.
