Open Enrollment for insurance now open; Info sessions planned May 5 and 11

 

OPEN ENROLLMENT BEGINS MAY 2, 2016 AND ENDS JUNE 9, 2016

The annual open enrollment process for health and dental insurance is now open and ends Thursday, June 9th.  Please thoroughly review the attached memo that provides an overview of information about the health and dental insurance coverage for the plan year beginning July 1, 2016, including premium information.  Please read below in its entirety and select links that are pertinent to you for more detailed information.

You must go online (click here for online enrollment instructions) to complete the enrollment process if you are:

  • declining health insurance coverage;
  • changing plans;
  • adding/dropping dependents; and/or
  • contributing to a medical and/or dependent care flexible spending account.

PRINT YOUR ENROLLMENT CONFIRMATION AFTER COMPLETING THE ONLINE ENROLLMENT PROCESS FOR YOUR RECORDS.  CHANGES/ENROLLMENTS CANNOT BE ACCEPTED AFTER JUNE 9, 2016.

If you are currently enrolled in the Open Access Plan or High Deductible Plan and wish to make no changes to that enrollment for the new plan year, there is nothing you need to do.

HEALTH SAVINGS ACCOUNTS

For those employees who are enrolled in the High Deductible Plan, the College will contribute $2,908 for plan year 2017.  The contribution will be made in two installments of $1,454:  July 15, 2016 and January 15, 2017.  In order to make tax-free deposits into a Health Savings Account, you must meet the following IRS eligibility requirements:

  • must be enrolled in a qualified high deductible plan;
  • must have no other health insurance coverage;
  • must not be enrolled in Medicare;
  • must not be claimed as a dependent on another person’s tax return.

I also highly encourage anyone interested in the High Deductible Plan with a Health Savings Account to attend one of the informational sessions noted in the attached memo or schedule a meeting with me to review information.

New Health Savings Account Enrollees

Health Savings Accounts will be set up with Health Equity.  We will be in contact with you to set up a meeting to go through the enrollment process and answer questions.

Current Health Savings Account Holders

Please complete the HSA Authorization Form and return to the Human Resources Office no later than June 16, 2016.

In compliance with the Affordable Care Act, LLCC has provided a Summary of Benefits and Coverage (SBC) for each plan offered.  This document, in a standardized format, summarizes important information about each health coverage option to help you compare across options.  This document is meant to help you compare plans.  You may contact the Human Resources Office for a paper copy.  Please refer to the Schedule of Benefits above for more specific plan information.

Employee Recognition & Appreciation Ceremony to be held Thursday May 5

The Annual Employee Recognition and Appreciation Ceremony will be held on Thursday, May 5 beginning at 3 p.m. in the Student Union.  During this ceremony, the College will recognize employees celebrating a service anniversary or retirement during the past fiscal year.  We will also recognize those receiving the honor of being named our 2016 NISOD recipients, the 2016 Distinguished Service honorees, the 2016 Faculty Emeriti and the 2016 Master Teacher and finalists.  The committee is working diligently to make this event special for all those employees being recognized.  Please plan to join us for this event!

Notice regarding summer schedule

As summer approaches, HR would like to remind each of you that the college will be closed on Fridays during the 12 weeks of summer beginning Friday, May 20, 2016 and ending on Friday, August 5, 2016. During this period, all full-time professional, administrative and classified benefit-eligible employees will be scheduled to work on a 36-hour per week basis.  For details about summer schedule, as well as appropriate summer attire, please view the attached memo: Summer 2016 Memo.
