Distinguished Service Award nominations due tomorrow

LLCC Human Resources is seeking nominations for the annual Distinguished Service Awards presented each year during the employee recognition ceremony. This award is given to LLCC employees who demonstrate exemplary leadership and service to the college community, promote a student-focused environment and exhibit a strong commitment to the college’s core values.

Recipients of the Distinguished Service Award will be selected from the nomination pool. The committee does not widen the pool beyond those nominations received, so your nomination is important! The selection committee is comprised of past recipients of the award and other members of the college community. All employment classifications are represented.

To make a nomination, please submit the Distinguished Service Award nomination form (available on HR Employee Portal) along with an essay about the nominee. The information provided in the essay will be the basis of the evaluation for the selection committee.

Updated information on Staff Training and Development Portal

The HR Staff Training and Development Portal has been updated. Through this portal upcoming workshops, current micro-learning opportunities and information from prior workshops can be found. This portal is available for all staff to utilize. Please explore the available professional development opportunities.

Additionally, Alan Pasley LLCC staff training and development coordinator, will be providing a workshop, “Leadership and Team Building,” on April 19 from 1-3 p.m. For registration, simply email Alan.Pasley@llcc.edu.

Come join the LEAGUE Circus!

All faculty and staff are invited to attend today’s kickoff of the annual faculty and staff giving campaign known as LEAGUE. Join the LEAGUE Committee in Cass Gym from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. for the following:

  • Pick up your ticket for a complimentary lunch from one of the one of three food trucks and a ticket for mini donuts.LEAGUE 2023. Circus Fare. Az-t-ca choice of: beef or chicken nachos (melted cheese, pico de gallo, sour cream, jalapenos). Twyfords choice of 2 itmes: beef brisket or pulled pork sandwish with small mac-n-cheese. Food Machine choice of 2 items: hamburger or chicken bites with fries. Donut Dollies Mini Donuts: choice of cinnamon sugar or powdered sugar.
  • Make your donation to the LEAGUE campaign at the kickoff if you choose or use this form. There are lots of great incentives based on the level of giving and drawings for great prizes.LEAGUE 2023 Campaign incentives. Animal crackers - $2 per pay. Duffel bag - $7 per pay.   • Recipients of the LEAGUE Grant awards will be announced.
  • The Gamma Phi Circus from Illinois State University will be performing.

Visit the Health and Wellness tab on the HR portal to view new and updated information. If you missed the virtual session from Springfield Memorial Hospital: Mental Health Strategies, the recording and slides are available under the Health and Wellness events section. Additional features include:

  • March is National Nutrition Month. Learn how to determine your caloric needs, take part in Wellness Wednesdays with the Hy-vee Dietician, food prep tips and more.
  • The new section titled Movement includes walking paths around campus and a 10-minute video demonstrating stretches for your office space.
