Bistro Verde opens for lunch service Thursday! Casual dining is being served in the student-run cafe from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays through March 3. LLCC’s student-run café is open for lunch this semester on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11 a.m.–1 p.m. Bistro Verde will operate as a casual bistro from Thursday, Jan. 29–Tuesday, March 3, and will then offer fine dining Thursday, March 26–Tuesday, April 21.

 

Bistro Verde to reopen for sit-down meals Jan. 29

Bistro Verde, LLCC’s student-run café, will be open for lunch this semester on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11 a.m.–1 p.m. Bistro Verde will operate as a casual bistro from Thursday, Jan. 29–Tues., March 3, and will then offer fine dining Thursday, March 26–Tuesday, April 21. Reservations are required; email bistroverde@llcc.edu, call 786.2821, or stop by the café during business hours.

Bistro Verde accepts cash, debit or credit cards; sorry, no checks. At this time, the Bistro does not offer to-go meals.  The café’s dining room is staffed by students from the Dining Room Operations class, and food is prepared by students from Food Production 4. Desserts are created by students in Restaurant Desserts and Advanced Baking and Pastry classes, and bread is supplied by the Artisan Breads class.

Openings still available for culinary scholarship lunch and dinner Dec. 9 & 10

Openings are still available for the annual culinary scholarship lunch and dinner in Bistro Verde.  Lunch will be served on Tuesday, Dec. 9 with seatings at 11:30 a.m. and noon. Dinner will be served on Wednesday, Dec. 10 with seatings at 6 p.m. and 6:30 pm. The student operated café will sell ready to eat soups, salads, sandwiches and assorted baked goods for take-out only.  Menu selections will vary each day based on what is being prepared by culinary and baking classes. The café will also offer coffee, tea, soda, and bottled water.  Bistro To Go will be open on Mondays from 4 – 6 p.m. and Wednesdays from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.  Due to the nature of the class and student curriculum, we will not be able to accommodate call-ahead orders or seating in the Bistro and there is a limit of 4 “orders” per person.

The café will also offer coffee, tea, soda and bottled water.

Bistro To Go will be open on Mondays from 4 – 6 p.m. and Wednesdays from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.  Opening day is Monday, Sept. 15 and will continue through Monday Nov. 24.  Due to the nature of the class and student curriculum, we will not be able to accommodate call-ahead orders or seating in the Bistro, and there is a limit of 4 “orders” per person.

 

Sweet corn is ready!

The Ag Department has grown sweet corn this summer and invites college employees to have some.  The patch of corn, located between Logan Hall and Montgomery Hall, is edged with pink flags with rows that run north and south. Faculty and staff are welcome to pick the corn and take home to enjoy!
