Canvas Studio

Don’t forget that LLCC offers Canvas Studio to all faculty and their students! Canvas Studio is a video learning platform integrated directly into the college’s Canvas system. Studio allows you and your students to record, close caption, store and embed videos directly into multiple areas of a course such as assignments, discussions and pages. Studio analytics allows you to easily analyze the media students are viewing, how long they are viewing and when they stopped.  Additionally, Studio has timeline comments features, as well as embedded quizzing functions. Please see this short video for an overview of Canvas Studio. You can also learn more about Canvas Studio in the Canvas Studio Guide found in the Canvas Community.

Prioritizing SEL (Social and Emotional Learning) in an Online Environment

Webinar begins at 1 p.m. CT

Presented by Kirsten Wilson, M.Ed, Virtual Arkansas
Sponsored by Quality Matters

Social Emotional Learning isn’t just something that is designed and developed in a course. It takes active training and a set of skills with an online educator to know what “just-in-time” supports are needed for students. Learn how Virtual Arkansas has taken the course-embedded elements of SEL and brought them full circle through leveraging all forms of communication in their courses along with the learner-centric approach of their teachers and systematic steps to interact, invest and maximize every opportunity to support and build capacity in students. This is where Virtual Arkansas takes the QM K-12 Rubric standards of 5.2, 5.3 and 5.4 along with the NSQ for Online Teaching and Learning and implements them with authenticity and fidelity.

Register for this Jan. 19 webinar.

Upskilling Student for High-Demand Careers through Immersive Technology

Webinar begins at 1 p.m. CT

This is Corporate Sponsor content presented by The Chronicle of Higher Education. All content is provided by Unity.

The world is changing. Consumers demand personalized, interactive experiences. 2D is now 3D. The physical is becoming virtual. Creators monetize in new ways. Jobs are changing. The metaverse is manifesting. The convergence of immersive technologies has disrupted industries including film, architecture, engineering, construction, entertainment, commerce, arts and design. Higher education now has the opportunity to prepare the workforce for these changes and ensure that students of today become the creators — not just the consumers — of tomorrow. This session will explore the current state of interactive 3D development and how higher education institutions are getting students ready for a rapidly evolving job market.

Join a panel of industry experts and educators from leading post-secondary institutions to learn:

  • How colleges and universities are innovating teaching, learning and student-to-student connection with real-time 3D technology
  • Which tools and technologies schools should teach and make accessible to students and faculty
  • How schools can impart the skills needed for high-demand jobs in the new economy

Register for this Jan. 20 webinar.
